Who is Eric Francis?

Eric Francis Coppolino, founder and editor of Planet Waves, is a professional astrologer and journalist. A pioneer in the field of new planet discoveries, he has worked with clients and written about astrology for wide audiences since 1995. "The Worlds of Eric Francis," his first homepage, was one of the first astrology sites on the Internet.

Eric teaches astrology counseling techniques to other professional astrologers at conferences in the United States, Canada and the UK. He is equally respected for his exploration of controversial, newly-discovered planets and for his elegant approach to writing astrology.

He came to astrology from investigative reporting, challenging some of the world's most powerful corporations, including Monsanto, General Electric and Westinghouse. Eric's award-winning environmental writing has reached the pages of The New York Times, the Village Voice, Sierra magazine and The Ecologist.

Now, as an astrologer, he works as a kind of professional divining oracle and philosopher. It's fair to say that he's a holistically aware philosopher and agent of change. Taking on something as seemingly out-there as astrology, he never gave up his journalistic credibility. Hence, when Pluto was declared 'not a planet', The Wall Street Journal put him on page one.

He is one of a very few Americans to ever appear as the astrologer in a British newspaper or magazine. He has written astrology regularly for such titles as The Mirror (UK), The Mail (UK), Harper's Bazaar (Aus), Woman (UK), Flaunt (US) and People.com.

He is a no-nonsense self-help writer, taking a fresh approach to awareness and participation in one's own growth and creative process. Many of his articles use an astrological approach to news events, casting them as opportunities for personal awareness and participation. Morphing the worlds of reason and belief seamlessly, each article he writes seems to invent a new genre of journalism.
