The Future of Planet Waves is in Your Hands

First, our prayers go out to our friend Kateryna, daughter of Anatoly, in our Ukraine office, where there is rumor of imminent invasion from Russia. She is the film student who edits our videos, helps our customers, and maintains our mailing lists. Our benighted world is already in one war; we do not need another.

Thank you for your excellent response to last month’s appeal to restore Planet Waves funding. I just saw our accounting statement for January, and the company ran at a profit for the first time in two years.

Thank you to everyone who made that possible. Our bills are paid and we are solvent. We make payroll every two weeks, even if it’s a stretch.

When the dust settles on all of this — and I reckon it will — it'll turn out that an astrology website was one of a very few publications that fulfilled its journalistic responsibility and actually investigated the issues from the beginning; and did not lie, do the bidding of drug companies or the government, hide the facts, or in any way pretend.

However, as I said to you last month, we are seeking to recover $90,000 a year in lost subscriptions and sales — a lot of money for a very small business. This was coincidental with many people — including many of my highest paying subscribers — saying they were canceling, claiming I'm a liar, fear-monger or conspiracy theorist.

I don’t think anyone actually believes that.

My subscribers of all people know that I am a thoughtful, experienced, sincere and careful reporter, and that I work with impeccable researchers and fact-checkers. These slurs are just the current way to justify canceling someone whose presumed views you don’t agree with, or whose findings make you uncomfortable.

Our willingness to stay awake through hundreds of nights to confront the unknown and seek the truth — at the time, what seemed like doing the impossible — was precisely the Zen nature of the quest. Not everyone is willing or ready to confront their fears.

We are living through a situation where people who want to be lied to are cutting off the funding and flow of information to those who want to be informed.

Here is the good news. More than half of you have stayed with us, and many old and new subscribers signed up in January. Let’s keep this trend going — we have more ground to cover. And we are continuing to build our vision of a spiritually grounded news service.


Treating the Sick and Reporting on Chaotic, Painful Events

When the “covid” crisis emerged in March 2020, I responded appropriately as an investigative reporter and news editor: by assembling a reporting team and seeking facts that might point to the truth. I did not panic, succumb to fear, cry foul or resort to suspicion. I did not take a viewpoint. I got busy, with an open mind.

I made a conscious choice to give Anthony Fauci the benefit of the doubt, knowing all about his horrendous history. After all, he could be right. I was determined to find out.

Right before that, the very first thing I did was contact my clients and colleagues around the world who are medical doctors, homeopaths and a close friend who is a midwife and master herbalist, and sought information about how to treat respiratory illness. Through these contacts, I also reached out to some of the best minds in the world to get information.

Based on what I learned in those conversations, and from my 25 years of studying homeopathy and holistic health, I stocked my home with supplies, homeopathic remedies and the appropriate supplements, from Agarikon by Host Defense to Gelsemium from Hahnemann Labs. I personally tinctured a quart of elderberry in case of a future shortage. Just in case, I had my canines on a mushroom preparation by Paul Stamets.

After meditating on the issue, and receiving spiritual guidance from my inner teacher, I committed to treating the stricken should it come to some overflow in hospitals, or should my neighbors need help. My guidance said: don’t worry about getting sick. Take care of people if they need you.

With that done, I then assembled a discovery team and began tracking articles and scientific papers, working my contact network from my previous career covering toxins, searching out new sources, and working to get to the bottom of matters.

In the process, I built a body of work and documentation of events that includes gems like this. I believe my early chronology is the best on the internet.


We Have Kept our Commitment To You

I don't know what difference we have really made. I do know that we have kept our integrity, never sold our souls, or knuckled under to pressure to deny or deceive. We as a company have honored our commitment to you: to be honest reporters, about whatever we may cover, spiritual, astrological, or scientific. We trust you with reality.

Our purpose is to seek the truth, and tell you what we learn. I am the writer. Many people work persistently behind me. I understand that these issues can be unpopular. I was aware of the growing divide, and the toxic effects of nonstop fear. Even as I did some of my best work, I was aware that people were canceling me.

I was also aware that many other readers were depending on my research and writing, depending on Planet Waves as the one place they were sure was not lying to them, and pointing them to others.

We have updated Covid19 News more than 3,000 times in just two years, followed by 34,000 unique readers. But most do not contribute. Please — help us cover the modest cost of this important daily news service. We are funded only by you, our readers.

While we were doing this, I maintained my practice as an astrologer and my flow of articles and horoscopes. It the current spiritual environment, this was difficult and it continues to be so. But there’s another issue: the reason I am writing every other week is because I have to work to pay for the next week’s publishing.

The expenses of Planet Waves are truly modest. All our paid staff is working for a fraction of their worth, though I do what I can. That is a commitment I intend to keep, and I ask for your cooperation in doing so.


We are a Business with Obligations — Not a Blog

Planet Waves is an established press agency, recognized by the European Commission (where I held presidential level credentials), the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), and the British and American writers’ unions (NUJ and NWU). And by some miracle, my daily and weekly horoscopes have been published in newspapers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia.

Our bookkeeper Jenn Cameron, and administrative mavin Claudia Mansbach. Together, they keep our business affairs in order.

To produce Planet Waves requires the help of a fantastic artist, proofreaders, customer service people and web developers, plus office equipment, leasing servers, an administrative and business team, insurance, and basic office overhead. I know how to run on a tight budget, because none of my publications ever take advertising dollars.

Right now I am still paying to work, by donating my consulting fees to the company so we can make payroll. Do I need to say I’m not motivated by money? We may all agree, I should get paid for my 60-hour weeks. I will be a lot happier and more productive.
