ARIES (March 21-April 19)
Learning happens in your body, not just your mind. If you've ever driven a standard-shift car, you know what I'm talking about; when you're really in the flow, the mind steps aside, and the body synchs in with the gears and engine with expert precision. What we call the mind is then free to monitor events and make important decisions. This is an excellent week of developing mind-body contact for you, which will assist your learning and, it seems, unlearning and undoing that which is false. Adjustments will be required, but they will be worth it.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
In his amazing little book *Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah*, Richard Bach explains that we teach what we most need to learn. With the brilliant Mercury and the mighty Saturn now transiting your birth sign, you may feel like you're deep in the middle of what an astrologer once described to me as "coming to terms" with yourself. But the question is, what terms? And whose terms? Are you wasting your precious time on fear? Remember, if you are fearful, you will teach fear; if you are applying creativity to your situation, you will both teach and attract creativity. Those are your choices.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)
As the season of your birth begins, major events are unfolding on the relationship angle of your solar chart. Juno, a powerful asteroid governing matters of marriage partnership, is getting her clock cleaned by Pluto and Chiron, two of the most potent activating forces in all of astrology. Your relationship to yourself is changing. Old values are burning up. Old visions of who or what you thought you wanted from another person are evaporating. In their place, new ideas about how you look at and appreciate The Other are free to be written. No doubt you're on edge about many things in your life, especially love, but no doubt, a little extra awareness -- careful monitoring of yourself and the world around you -- will carry you a very long way toward what you truly desire, and truly need.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)
In the coming days, you may find yourself involved a situation in which it does not seem possible to make a move without causing some pain to yourself, or crisis to others. At the heart of the matter is your feeling of not being able to find yourself in the midst of your own reality; as if your whole life has become a blind spot. Yet in this world, we must have faith in something, and faith operates best in the dark. If you cultivate faith in love, and then put it into action by both giving and receiving kindness and consciousness, you will discover that events take you to a level of peace and beauty beyond your wildest hopes.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
Chiron opposite the Sun is what Barbara Hand Clow described as "a life and death struggle to bring the self into expression." With the Sun, the celestial body associated with Leo, now about to enter Gemini, you may become aware of many selves, and the many lives that they have lived, and your struggle to bring someone or something into expression may be quite complex. Yet this is truly the Alchemical Sun, and that means you have, at this time, a brilliant, burning, awesome moment of potential to fill your life with an energy of change so powerful that, well, something meaningful actually changes.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sep. 22)
Your life may seem close to certain limits at the moment, which could be exhilarating, or just as nerve-racking. Current aspects speak of a space that is such a mixture of vulnerability and power, all I can really say is that from this point on, all differences of any kind are poised on that razor's edge known as awareness. Each moment of your life now hinges upon a conscious thought. Each thought is a turning point; each is a branch in the road which can lead you anywhere. Tread lightly, but tread ahead.

LIBRA (Sep. 23-Oct. 22)
There are all kinds of ways to be daring, and to explore the idea of risk. Skydiving and bungee jumping are one type of dare; acknowledging something about yourself -- something you perhaps always knew, but were afraid to "let yourself know you knew" -- is another. The best clue I can offer you as to what this might be is that it's about something you secretly want with all your blood and bones. And it will take some guts to let yourself in on this little secret desire you're hiding from yourself, or trying to. But you know what it is. Say it out loud.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
The extent to which our entire human reality is determined by sex is something about which our culture is in a state of outrageous denial. Someone recently described the current retrograde of Mars -- a very Scorpio planet, and the essential archetype of desire -- as "Violent Spring," and I have no doubt that at the core of this violence we are witnessing in Kosovo, Littleton and elsewhere, is sexual repression, denial, pain and guilt. In reality, these are all different words for the same thing. With Mars now transiting backwards in Libra, the message is clear: do not deny the undeniable. You are alive. Live that way. Love that way.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23-Dec. 21)
This week will have a fated quality to it, and what unfolds will do so with the utmost precision. Be prepared to experience a wide range of emotions, and to do so shamelessly, because in that process you will discover a most unusual freedom. Indeed, one of our most severe restrictions (though they are different for men and women) are clamps and chains placed upon what we are allowed to feel. If you can let go of these restrictions even a little, it would surprise me tremendously if you said that in the next seven days, you didn't learn about yourself as much as you've learned in the past seven years; and it will not stop there.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
All astrology is prophesy. Even the most humanistic schools of thought on the matter, which view the stars as a means of presenting options, even the poetic schools, which say that the stars present a symbolic picture of reality, and even the school that says the universe is a predictable machine; all of them involve a combination of foresight and insight that requires the astrologer to conjure knowledge from a space of not knowing. The question for you now, in linewith this, is what to do if you intuitively know someone close to you is heading for a potentially difficult situation with a potentially negative outcome. Do you maintain your silence? It might be very wise.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
Intimacy requires true bravery. I am a pretty gutsy person, and when I am approached by someone offering contact and closeness and acknowledgment -- all of which I deeply crave -- I often feel my mind fill with raging insecurities, confusion and fear. I know that I can either hesitate, or accept the offer and experience whatever comes next. But what is at the heart of this terror? I suspect it's the business of not knowing; of not being able to control the outcome; and the simple fact that when we enter into authentic relationship, we are changed forever, never to return to the way we were. But isn't it time?

PISCES (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)
Your primary role this week seems to be witness rather than participant. But when this happens -- indeed, when either role is entered fully -- a rupture can occur, and the illusionary wall between "spectator" and "player" can dissolve, and the two become one distinct experience. For we are witness to what we participate in, and direct participants in that which we witness. Awareness becomes so powerful that all experience is subsumed by the total unity of reality (what some people call God). And from this perspective, the notion of *choice* becomes something very new, noticeably different, and truly important.

FOR THE FAITHFUL
Most who renounce astrology have never made a serious inquiry into it. So to me, rejection of astrology without investigation is about as valid as saying "The Beatles Suck" when a person has not heard a note of their music. On this point alone, most skeptics lose the astrology argument. Their quest is not an attempt to seek truth, but to block its discovery. Skepticism does not make good science; it is not a hypothesis in itself; it is a refutation of a possible outcome before the matter has been investigated. The history of science is replete with examples of things that were "impossible" or improbable. When there finally were bright, open, or young enough young minds put to the task, with more modern technologies, and the benefit of the past, then information and facts, and, at times, even a level of the truth, were found. Sometimes it happens.

We have not had time to assemble the reader responses from the past few weeks, which I promied to post here this week. It may take a little while from here, so thanks for your patience -- and thanks for writing. Your words have truly been inspiring.
