ARIES (March 21-April 19)
When my Aries grandfather was working as a letter carrier in New York City, he was approached by a colleague with an idea: each would put up about $50 and they would have a pushcart where they would sell bagels with cream cheese, filled with crushed nuts. My grandfather thought it was too risky to get involved. The business became Chock Full o' Nuts, and unfortunately, I am not one of its heirs. There really is no telling what's a potentially lucrative venture in our time in history, but for your part, it needs to be more than a good idea. You must set out to make your fortunes not just in something you think will work, but in what you know will serve the community in a vital way that depends on your unique constellation of talents. You know it's possible.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
A few weeks ago I raised the sex-religion question, and it's now time to return to it. There always seems to be a relationship between the two. In America, where the dominant Christian faith has a sexless creation story (God's child was supposedly born to a virgin) religion serves to crush the healthy expression of sexuality. Americans, accordingly, often see and practice sex as a dangerous, naughty fetish rather than a natural experience. What if you thought of all sexual experience as celebration of something originally designed to create life? What if -- whether you're gay, straight or in between -- the impulse to extend and create lived and breathed as one with your with your desire?

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)
All of your experiences this week are doors into deeper places. So take nothing, and no one, at face value. Look deeper and look again. People you meet in one context will tend to end up in an entirely different role, as purposes for the contact deepen, and what was invisible in someone's character one day will appear as an undeniable truth the next. As this happens, your reactions to people you've just met, or whom you've known for a long time, will tend to change dramatically as well; monitor your inner emotional realms carefully for more information, and remember your vital gift of flexibility in these days. To fully enjoy this particular current of life, you will need to go with the flow.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)
It is imperative that you watch your health for the next week. This means no getting run down, no late nights before work, no overwork, no eating plastic food, no Pepsi for breakfast and no spirulina-cigarette sandwiches for lunch. Instead, eat normal meals, for which you pause in your activities. You also need, in my astrological opinion, to take a more relaxed attitude with your mind as well, since the mind is what holds the whole energeticsystem in alignment, including assisting the processing of the complex emotions that are now catching up with you, reminding you to eat, sleep and drink water. Having issued that stern warning, expect a week of brilliant success in your most important affairs.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
There are those who dare and there are those who don't. Being born under the sign of the lion guarantees neither courage nor your capacity for acting on it. Many other factors are at work. One is tending the fires of your heart, never letting them run cold; such would be dreadful to a Leo at any phase of life, since you really are ruled from the heart outward. The way your life is currently shaping up, though, it appears you will have the resolve to risk possible emotional hurt, some potential threat to your security, and the challenge to your faith, all for the purpose of daring to go beyond what you once thought of as impenetrable limits. Congratulations, you no longer need them.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sep. 22)
May I introduce two concepts from politics that will be of great assistance in the coming phase of your life: progressive and regressive. This is social-movement shoptalk for forward and backward; for progress, or its opposite, for which there is no word (though some would say "congress"). Consider that you are now laying the groundwork for the future. What kind of future do you want? What about the past do you distinctly not want? Every element you now see in your life, good or bad, can remain with you for months to come, unless you take action to set a few things in balance. You still have time, and enough flexibility to make your own choices, and to define progress.

LIBRA (Sep. 23-Oct. 22)
It may be challenging not to think with your hormones over the next couple of weeks, but it will pay to keep some measure of control. Events and encounters of the immediate future will have a high likelihood of developing some way other than you're anticipating. People you lure in by squeezing the essences from your secret glands may turn out to have extraordinarily complex agendas, so it will be imperative to get to know them before you make the step of throwing open your energetic doors and screaming, "Come what may!" Your whole life is changing gears at the moment, and it's vital that you take this very seriously and keep your focus.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
Your emotional energy is accumulating rapidly, and you may not feel like you have the outlets for it. But I suggest you create them, whether it's a good game of racquetball, fiery sex for two with a trusted friend, or highly dependable sex for one. Walking would be highly productive; writing a morning journal would protect your mind from its own hidden thoughts and feelings. Whatever you choose to do, a steady routine over the next two weeks will ensure that your mental reactions in sensitive areas of your life, such as your work, don't get entangled in the inner emotional workings-out that are so necessary and unavoidable.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23-Dec. 21)
In this season of your birth, you are given to feel the most alive, aware and influential of any time of the year, and this particular year stands out with some bold changes and vivid signs that you're setting off on one of the most important quests of your life. But if the quest is love, then you will seek it out most successfully by becoming the person that you want to meet. In all likelihood, that would mean daring to have as much fun, be as wildly optimistic, as sexually free and as spiritually aligned as the person of your dreams. This, in turn, would require making room for all these things in your life; which makes sense.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
If you're confused or seeking a more concrete sense of direction, do your thinking in the morning, starting at sunrise. At this time of year, daybreak hours are especially visionary for you, though this is quite a year for that particular celestial phenomenon. If you can actually watch the sun rise where you live, all the better. You will see the usual orange ball rising above the horizon, but remember that there are distant planets way beyond it, and those planets have information for you that will make itself known in these early-morning pilgrimages, and, more importantly, in the final week leading up to the millennium.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
This is a great week to transpose between what you imagine would be wonderful and what you can actually accomplish that really is wonderful. I sense that you're being visited, if not possessed, by an old and long-forgotten personal energy and might of will, mingled with the extra juice that comes from working from a rare position of selfless service. People may think your ideas are kind of strange, but I assure you that before anyone gets one-third of that statement out of their mouth, they will stop in their tracks with a respectfully-uttered vote of confidence. Take the opportunity to draft such fine souls into the movement.

PISCES (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)
People who play power games, which amounts to any use of power wielded over others in an attempt to gain control, are revealing that they are essentially powerless. The trick to successfully waging power games is leading everyone else to think that they are weak. You're no longer in that particular position, though unless you're vigilant, your beliefs can always get the best of you. In the coming days, there ought to be ample evidence that you hold considerable authority in most of the important areas of your life, and that you can wield this strength in the realms of ideas and worldly achievements that will benefit everyone.

For the Faithful
The World Trade Organization, perceived by many as one of the great tools of fascist capitalism, is meeting this week in Seattle. As the Sun, Pluto and Chiron join forces in Sagittarius, the sign of world healing, it seems clear that whatever these great wizards of commerce have on their agendas, they will find themselves succumbing to the evolutionary impulse despite their best intentions to further pillage the planet. And the conference has been drawing together activists from all over the world, who will also be gathering like a galaxy of stars around the black hole located at the center of their movement. Christopher Grosso will be providing special coverage at Planet Waves Online.
