ARIES (March 21-April 19)
Real freedom is the freedom to believe the truth. Another way to say this is that real freedom is faith in yourself. Reassurances really get us nowhere in the long run, and the path you've chosen has involved consciously facing your doubts, determining what you need to let go of, and what you would do well to keep. In the process, you've actually made many necessary changes, confronting a whole assortment of values, and facing the false intimidation of what other people believe. In fact, few people go through this ordeal; most people are, to an astonishing degree, blindly accepting of whatever they were told. In the coming weeks and months, you'll be seeing evidence of some of the more brilliant rewards of your bold undertaking. There is no rush at all.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
Though it may look for certain that you are falling into the same old trap, actually, nothing of the sort is occurring. But you may want to ask yourself why it is you insist on coming so close to what's obviously so detrimental to your needs and in violation of your true nature. Are you playing any kind of game of contrasts? Do you need to gaze into the face of greed, limitation or insidious evil in order to feel yourself as abundant, generous, expansive and kind? Or are you flirting with your own shadow, with the legacy of fear and inflexibility that is an artifact of generations gone by? Just look honestly at who you are. That's more than enough to induce spontaneous enlightenment.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)
I'll begin with a few unedited crystals of language written to me from a high-voltage Gemini cousin: "to be comfortable with me you must be very secure and have a good sense of what it is you want because i have the ability to make my deepest desire your own which would in any other time horrify. i over power people too easily and therefore have entered a quest for a partner who will match my strong will and desire to stretch the bounds of this reality in all senses love sex spirit emotion humor all senses of this reality we accept so blindly as truth and know is a deep and dark lie." Stars for the coming season say that if you seek this in every person you meet, you just may know it when you find it.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)
Pay careful attention to the ways in which you make your compromises and agreements this week. There will be times when you seem to exist purely to supplement or compliment the existence of another, even at your own expense, and others when you will see the perfect solution that benefits everyone at the expense of no one. There is rarely an instant of time when your personal agenda does not serve everyone around you quite well, and in a short time, some critical tasks will seem to emerge requiring your total focus. It will be far better to start to focus sooner rather than later; the less distraction you're bothered with, the more fun you'll have doing what only you can do so well.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
Life goes on. It's a beautiful thing, and it's one of the few facts we can really count on while we have the responsibility, the joy and at times the annoyance of being alive. It is ever-important that you tune your antennas and your daily processes to the waves of change that will be blowing through our reality in the coming months. One of the most important ways to do this is to stay loose, doing your best not to cling to what you think you believe, what you seem to value, or feel you want out of life. This is not intended to take anything away from you, but rather to give you the opportunity to receive when something much better comes along.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sep. 22)
You may be drifting in and out of great hopes for yourself, and at the same time wondering how they are justified given those moments of darkness capable of gripping you. Remember, you're in a growth process, working out the details of your life on a deep level, and you're in fact making progress, no matter what the external situation may seem to be. Part of that process involves coming to terms with who you really, really are, in the best sense of the idea. Most people survive by using strings and patches to shore up their emotions and self-esteem; most are content to lie to themselves; to substitute money and a touch of false glamour for success. You are not. I suggest you abandon hope and learn how to truly have faith. It's easier.

LIBRA (Sep. 23-Oct. 22)
Humans have many strange and convoluted ideas surrounding religious worship, and none of us are free from contamination from what usually turn out to be well-decorated methods of governmental or social control. But religion Libra-style would be your basic appreciation of love, sex, abundance and the balance of the light and dark forces in the universe. There is, in truth, something beautifully simple about the way you devote yourself to life, and I suggest you not to lose sight of that simplicity, despite what people may be expecting of you or the opinions they may hold about who you are or why they think you're here.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 22)
You may have a nagging sense that something is wrong. It may be manifesting as a notion that there's something about yourself that you want to be true that is not quite true, or worse, that you were wrong all along. You may feel an imbalance between what you value and your ability to act on it, leading you to question whether your resolve is authentic. I suggest you not make any harsh judgments on yourself that will turn out to be wrong, and hence, a waste of time. You dearly need this space to reflect and examine yourself, because the clarity you can attain now has the power to stay with you for a very long time to come.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23-Dec. 21)
Isn't it amazing how fast paranoia and insecurity give way to power? This confirms my suspicion that fear exists as a concealment of power, and that where we are experiencing some kind of psychic disturbance, there is some kind of energy creating that disturbance, and that energy is available. Now you get to experience the real juice of your psyche as you feel your own force of will for you rather than against you; as you feel your faith serve you instead of hinder you; and as you get a clear sense that this person you've been looking for all along really is you.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
I hear people say again and again that they are working to get in touch with the creative side of their nature, which they will do in a few years after they quit this boring job. Cousins, it don't work that way. True creativity, like true fulfillment and authentic freedom, is cultivated a little bit every day, and experienced not as a "side" of the personality but as an integrated aspect of life. The process is not about learning to paint, play music or blow glass, but rather about becoming aware. There is no talent within you that needs to be liberated other than the power to risk change in any given moment of time.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)
As Venus struggles with Saturn, you're likely to be moving through strange stuff around love and money, but the real themes are values and generosity of heart. In Astrology: A Cosmic Science, Isabel Hickey calls Venus square Saturn "Karmic in origin on the debt side of the spiritual ledger," resulting in "disappointments through love due to disillusionment" as well as "selfishness and separateness often unrecognized by the individual." Maybe so. But you don't need your illusions, and it turns out anything really worth having is worth giving away. We know you value your freedom. Now's a good time to note carefully what your parents taught you, and to ask what freedom really is.

PISCES (Feb. 19-Mar. 20)
You must allow people to go through their changes without getting too emotionally involved. Making yourself available is one thing; offering your support, psychic, moral or otherwise, is another. But feeling guilty or getting sucked into other peoples' processes or control dramas is something else entirely, and this is especially important if people are projecting onto you -- which is almost always the case in close personal relationships. One of the great lessons of being a Pisces is how to seal up your very spongy emotional body and not absorb every feeling, attitude, judgment, vibe, value and opinion around you. You don't need them; you have plenty of your own.

For the Faithful
The season is changing quickly. Mars, now finally complete with its long journey through Scorpio, has entered Sagittarius, the realm of the freedom of ideas and faith in justice. Venus, though temporarily in a tense situation, caught in a station between Saturn and Uranus (See Taurus, Capricorn and Aquarius for details) ends its retrograde period in about a week. This will all work to restore a sense of normalcy to life and relieve some of the confusion we've been experiencing in relationships, but take a look at the night sky. The two largest planets, bright Jupiter and more distant Saturn, are close to their once-per-generation conjunction. Over the coming six months they will steadily approach one another, marking the advent of some great but still unknown turning point in history and personal history.
